A House That Had Become Too Much to Manage
Updated: Oct 8

This property came to us following the death of its owner, who had lived independently for many years.
The owner had been determined to remain in their own home and hadn't wanted anyone interfering or coming in to help. Over time, the property had fallen into disrepair, the garden had become badly overgrown, and there were serious structural concerns inside.
When the executor inherited the responsibility of dealing with the estate, they faced a difficult situation.
The house needed extensive work, there were concerns about its safety, and it was still full of furniture and personal belongings that needed clearing.
Getting the property ready for sale would have meant organising contractors, arranging clearance and potentially spending a considerable amount of money before the house could even be marketed.
That's where we came in.
We visited the property, assessed its condition and agreed to buy it exactly as it stood.
There was just one important request from the executor: could we take responsibility for clearing the property as well?
Absolutely.
We agreed to handle the clearance ourselves, meaning the executor didn't have to organise or pay for it separately.
We also arranged a completion date that suited the estate, allowing everything to be dealt with in their own time.
The result?
The executor was able to sell the property without having to carry out repairs, arrange clearance or worry about the condition of the house.
And we bought a property that needed considerable attention, which was exactly what we were looking for.
